After a few pints at the pub, we kicked off a home game:
Buy in - £10
4 players
Hold'em - 1st £40
3,300 chips - 15 min blinds (25/50)
Final hand was between me and Paul, heads up (Mike was out first then Phil placed 3rd after Paul wiped him out). I had just had a run of being dealt Ace rag 3 or 4 times on the bounce so managed to just edge ahead on chips. about 8K to 5K.
Dealt A, 7 off. Paul raises pretty big for his stack 2K (. I didn't want to reraise preflop this time to try and conceal the hand. I just call. What ever happens from here, Paul is pretty much pot committed and I can predict a bet, whatever the flop.
Flop comes 10, 9, 6 rainbow. He goes all-in which is really his only option. I feel I must still be in a good position. At worst I feel will still have outs of any ace or 8 (not great but I still think he's bluffing anyway). I call. He shows Q, 5. Turn and river are blanks. £40 win.
The 2nd game:
Buy in - £10
3 players
Omaha High - 1st £30
2,800 chips - 15 min blinds (25/50)
There is some early on looseness as we all adjust to Omaha.
I lose a big hand with trips against a straight to Paul. I was betting into him mistakenly. Some poor play.
Down to 1.5K I go all in with A,K,Q, 8. Paul calls with A,K,J,10. A Jack hits him on the flop and the rest of the board comes blank. Out.
Yet to find out who won this but Paul had a 5-1 chip lead as I left over Phil....
