Childwall Abbey - 2011 Autumn Special
Buy in - £5
10 players
Hold'em - 1st £40
3,700 chips - 15 min blinds (25/50)
Another successfully organised poker night at the Abbey.
Early chip lead went to Trigger (playing for the first time), but then once he actually showed down a few of his hands, people started to pounce! Namely Paul who then also took a huge lead. Amazingly first out was Trig despite the early lead.
Paul proceeded to bleed 7K or 8K to Beryl over the space of 3 hands and soon dropped out.
I was struggling early on. Had AK 3 times in about 12 hands, only hitting once (which was split). Was running low then all in 3 ways against Beryl (A,4) & Alison (A,3) - me (A,J). Board hit A,6,7... 3! I was miles behind all of a sudden, then the river paired the board - a 6 which kept me in it. Unlucky then lucky in the same hand.
Phil seemed to be quiet then ran into someone hitting flush draw when the money did go in.
It was us three who ended up left, then Beryl fell by the wayside.
After clawing back a big stack deficit against Alison heads up with pocket Jacks then trip 4s, we agreed to split the prize. £25 each.
I also topped that up with another fiver in the cash game afterwards.
